Respondus LockDown Browser: Coming September 2019

The LMS-IT, IT and CAFE eLearning teams have been collaborating to enable LockDown Browser within DC Connect. LockDown Browser is a fully integrated tool in DC Connect by the D2L vendor. We have had success in piloting the tool thus far (additional test exams are scheduled for early summer). We plan to launch LockDown Browser for September 2019 for all Faculty to use free of charge.

What is LockDown Browser?

LockDown Browser is a web browser that locks down the testing environment within DC Connect (learning management system). In class, online testing can sometimes be difficult to invigilate, especially in densely packed or non-traditional classroom spaces. With LockDown Browser, Students are unable to copy, print, access other applications, or visit other websites during an online exam. Quizzes in DC Connect can be configured to utilize this application, thus increasing the integrity of in class, online testing. LockDown Browser will be installed in the computer labs for September. Students can also use their own devices and install the application.
